Arrow Pepsi at Live8 was $3.

I read this in another thread. Isn't that the problem folks? Don't we all have "OUR PRICE" so that by the time the Mayor and the rest of the folks (read his brother) get done, a small bottle of sugar, water, and cola flavoring goes for $3.

If the idea is to stop screwing other people, why not begin right here at home? We have plenty of Philadelphians who are forced to take up the banner and charge $3 not because they are so extremely greedy but because of the $750 to $1,500 vendor licensing fee, depending on location.

Set an example!

The week before the Coke people were handing out Coke Zero for free in Love Park. This means that if some people can charge $3, that means there are not nearly enough vendors out there. Why not let as many people as possible step in and earn some pocket money?

Cool

Do you guys go to concerts??

$3 is quite normal for any "event"...

It's called "bring your own"...

They weren't stopping you from doing that...they weren't stopping anybody from doing anything for that matter...

True, pretty soon everyone will be bringing their own .....

What about at Famous Dave's .....

Beefeater martinis were just $5.75, a good price since most cocktails these days go for $10-$12. Few of the appetizers caught our eye except for the catfish. Catfish fingers ($7.59) consisted of a few strips of boneless catfish dipped into seasoned crumbs and fried until golden brown. Although the fish was not a bit overcooked, the coating was a bit greasy. The dish came with two dipping sauces, a slightly sweet barbecue sauce and a creamy remoulade, which I especially liked.

MOST COCKTAILS going for $10 - $12?

YIKES!

Bringing our own there too!

No wonder those Live8 countries and half the Middle East are against us! We are drinking up at $10 - $12 a pop while they are starving at 25 cents a pop.

Geldof made the point to provide a FREE concert. I mean they could have charged money. You guys would have paid $5 or maybe $8 to see Bon Jovi and Stevie Wonder right?

THEY DID NOT CHARGE YOU to make a point.

In steps the Mayor and says, "Oh we got someone who is so good at organizing vendors ...."

US:" "Mr. Mayor, is this your brother again?"

MJS: "Ummmmm, ohhhhh, ummmmm........"

WHY not hire some down-and-out people or maybe librarians who are looking for work. Pay them $50 to sell Pepsi, yes charge $3 but then donate the money to keep libraries open! You know, Civic Leadership not civic profits.

The $50 per person will be spent by Monday morning ... it will go out onto the streets and multiply itself eight times, from all accounts. Its win-win.

As long as you funnel money upwards, it holds back the economy.
