Default tivo,etc

It is a great service, no question.

I had one for a few years and killed it I used it so much. Thing is, there was no such thing as on-demand content back then, so it made sense.

Honestly, though, given the current market situation in on-demand television, I'd advise upgrading to Comcast's digital on-demand service in lieu of TiVo, just because the hardware is going out of date so quickly at this point; I love the TiVo service, but won't buy another because I think things have evolved past it.

What about the software that you can use from your laptop or desktop? Has anyone used that?

My dad just purchased an HP that has a TV tuner in it - whatever cable channels they get he is able to pull up on his computer now. It has a record function that workslike TiVo, too. Very cool ... the video quality is excellent.
