The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming "incontrovertible." |

I love these fabricated stories. Misrepresent the facts, quote the few scientists who support your views and BAM the myth is exposed!! Overwhelming scientific consensus be damned. The field of evolution deniers is another fine example.
Not sure if the OP missed this little nugget at the end of the story: Quote:

It did say their were scientists disagree with other scientists. So far the story is "Dog bites Man". In a posting to the APS forum, editor Jeffrey Marque explains,"There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution." http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=12403

John Colman the founder of the weather channel has always held that there is no global warming. He gave a speech to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce where he denounced global warning, called Gore a liar, and connected the global warming frenzy to the high price of gas.
He has a lot of interesting points that seem to shoot a huge hole in the whole global warming argument. This coupled with a petition published a few months months back with 30,000 scientists signing it stating they do not believe in global warming is pretty persuasive. from his commets: Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming? rest of his comments here: http://www.kusi.com/weather/colemans.../19842304.html |

Seems like we live in Medieval flat earth times....I guess somebody like Galileo who suggested the earth revolved around the sun and wasn't the center of the solar system like the Church professed..would be excommunicated by Darth Cheney in today's pseudo-scientific american environment..
