There is no way the U.S. or any military power could quickly eliminate all of the sites where Iran has nuclear material. It would take a lengthy invasion and probably overthrow of Iran.

The U.S. also knows that Iran can make Iraq into a more severe bloodbath than it already is, with the slightest effort, and U.S. voters will not stand for mass casualties much greater than current levels.

By going to the U.N., the U.S. is going the safest route available to try to get some sense into Iran; there is no way the administration is stupid enough to start a war with them.

There are a series of articles in the Atlantic Monthly Dec. '04 edition on this topic

They can't possibly be thinking of military force in Iran. We just don't have the numbers troop wise with our other current levels of obligation. She must actually be telling he truth, for now anyway, about not planning the use of military force in Iraq.

Except that yesterday, at the NATO meetings, she went off again threatening force.

Don't unpack, Geno.

They are already starting with the same lies they used in Iraq. Is anyone surprised that they are already looking to start a fight with Iran ? If China flew a a few planes over our air space would that be okay ?

Starting to feel drafty around here.

President Bush's sound bite in Europe last week is typical of his style:

Quote:
This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. Having said that, all options are on the table.
An AP report in today's Inky suggests that cooperating with Europe on Iran is still one of those options:

Quote:
U.N. agency chides Iran; U.S. weighs incentives

By George Jahn

Associated Press

VIENNA, Austria - The chief U.N. atomic watchdog chided Iran yesterday for delays in divulging key information about its nuclear program, saying the onus was on Tehran to overcome a "confidence deficit" caused by past cover-ups.

As Mohammed ElBaradei criticized Iran at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Bush administration suggested it was considering a major strategy shift - joining Europe in offering Tehran economic incentives to abandon its uranium-enrichment program.

Russia, meanwhile, sought to dismiss concerns that an Iranian nuclear reactor it built and will supply with fuel could be used to develop weapons. The accord signed Sunday is key to bringing Tehran's first reactor on line.

The deal was struck despite American objections, although U.S. officials said they could live with the pact because it was designed to eliminate the possibility of the Iranians misusing the fuel for weapons.

Default Neocon Ambitions........ Iran?

READ articles by the NeoCons (Wolfowitz, Pearle, etc.) as far back as 1979 in Foreign Affairs to understand their ambitions. As 'children' of Leo Strauss (at the Univ. of Chicago) it is clear that their Platonism extends to the world.
Bush never reads: thus he could never be a serious thinker re plans for hegemony.
Just listen to his efforts to complete the simplest statement before 5th grade school children and you would have to admit that what you are observing is an elemental 'wind-up' simulacrum. Look at his 'arms akimbo' walk and posture: what is this insult to humanity? Who is he imitating: John Wayne, a street thug? Not a world leader!

Keep in mind that as a 17 year old, my ass is gonna get drafted to fight this ****(hopefully the fact that I have Autsim will make them rethink that whole idea of putting me on the front lines). Trust me, you don't want a 200 pound train freak to be the last line of defense between us and tiranny .

But I have to say this: HAHAHAHAHA. I knew Iraq would screw us over in more ways then one. Too bad half this country is listening to Jesus(no offense, Jesus. You know what I mean).

Couldn't we send some nuclear warheads into these sites and take out their entire arsenal and military without a single soul crossing the border? Weren't bombs supposed to make man warfare a thing of the past? Anyway...

GOOD JOB BUSH! :clapping:

That is the most apt description I've yet to hear of Duhbya. Living with this insult to humanity in our highest office is a nightmare.
