And lets not forget people. When israel is bombing and shooting people, they're doing it with US arms. A fact that the people of the middle east are well aware of. Also, they're aware of the fact that the US has gone out of it's way to prevent any UN resolution of the palestinian-israeli situation.
And the palestinians use soviet/chinese made arms.

the UN is an inept corrupt socialist organization, that only ever acts to slap the US in the face, whatever the situation may be. When it's not slapping the US, it does nothing. Case in Point, the Rwandan genocide, or how about what's going on in Darfu right now. The UN...lmao!

Say what you will, when the Israelies kill a kid, more often then not, it's to kill the terrorist shooting at them behind the kid, or the kid who shot at them, the dropped the gun when he saw the cameras, when the Israelis blow a building up, it's because it aidded the terrorist in some fashion.

I do not ever recall the Jews intentionally targeting children and civillians, by blowing up buses, pizza parlors, dance halls, etc.

Your first sentence is an oversimplification. That area has been contested for 5,000 years (and probably a lot more, but let's stick with "recorded history.") It has been under the control of Akkadians, Amorites, Babylonians, Egyptians, Phoenicians... you name it.

Noone said a thing about Muslims conquering the "Holy Land"? Uh, isn't that what the Crusades were all about (at least ostensibly)?

Recognizing that Palestinians have a legitimate claim to the land doesn't diminish Israel's right to exist.

Over simplifying or not, the first sentance is correct. I started out as someone who supported the so called palestine. After too many numberless hours of reasearch, I came to my conclusion, and I stand by it.

As for modern times, they took the land in a war, those nations knew the consequence for going to war against Israel, and did it anyway. There's a price you pay for trying to wipe a race off the face of the planet.

Paletrsianians have no legit claim, they got a problem? Take it up with the nations that declared war on Israel.

By any chance did you read From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters?? real big book, lots of footnotes . The book purports that Palestinians were all recent immigrants. It was a very popular book in the "intellectual" communities. It was praised by reviewers! Authenticated by University professors. Not one negative comment about the book. Then it was released internationally.... Every international book reviewer said it was complete lies and total rubbish. The harshest critics of the book were Israeli intellectuals. They felt that the historical "facts" that were written in the book, would be exposed as fraudulent and it would reflect badly on Israel.
Or did you read Allan Dershowitz's plagiarised version of this hoax of a book.

No, I have'nt read those books. My method of research was looking at the actual historical accounts of wars, political uprisings, etc, starting from about 3,500 years ago. Not widely known, but the National Archives contain a wealth of information on Israel and the ME that was seized from the Germans at the end of WW2.

The palestinians, are not immigrants, they where always there, but prior to the 50's, never reffered to themserlves as Palestinians. That name become widley known and used, after the the Yom Kippur war. It was a rally cry, set up by Syria and Egypt to ferment an uprising, with the hopes of one day reclaiming the terrritory they lost during the war. The palestinians, where actually Syrians, and Egyptians by nationality.

When the Govt of Syria and Egypt, realized that even if the *Palestinians* gained their independence, they would not abide puppet regimes controled by either the Syrian, or Egytain Govt, they abandoned them. This is that curious silence people speak of, when they ask why the Palestinians recieve no support from those two nations.

Noone denies the *palestianians* the right to exist, the crux of the matter, are their claims of an independent Palestianian, and a *Palestianian lineage* that would divide Israel, and leave them open to attack. The problem now, is there has been to much Historical revisionism done by both sides. The Muslims cry foul, because Israel seized the land. Which I'll be honest, I think the Israelies where looking for a reason to do it, Syria & Egypt, gave them that reason.

The US, could never fully support an independent Palestine, for one reason, and one reason alone. This would open up the door for problems within our borders by groups like La Voz De Atzlan, who would then claim a Palestianian type status. They already ahve, but have yet to act violent on their claims. We back Palestine, and then ignore those Atzlander's, then there'd be domestic blood shed.

As I said however, History is on the side of the Jews, even the records of the Muslims, and especially Ottoman Empires support this. Only problem is, it's a pain in the a** to get to see these historical records. I was on a two year waiting list, before I finally viewed some of these for myself back in 1999.

Bottom line, wars have been going on in that region since recorded hisyory. Throughout that History, the Jews have always been driven from those lands, and have then come back to claim it. This is just the latest, but after the Holocaust, can you blame them for being so uptight? And don't forget, that Muslims in that region during WW2 where responsable for trying to get the Germans to wipe out all the Jews in Israel. Which is why the UN took action, and tacitly supported the annexation, and seven day war.

Correct me if I'm wrong but during this time, didn't the United states have complete control of the UN at this time???

We had a modern version of the Roman Triumviaret.

America, Britain, France.

We lost our 1/3 with the rise of the counter culture of the 60's.

maybe it's the fact that those three countries were unable to sustain their reign over the rest of the world??? Nah, that sounds too plausible!

IMO, the UN was compromised in the 60's. It was compromised by Anti American sentiment, that had it's roots within the Spheres of Socialism/Communism. There where Americans who had a hand in doing this. Some unknowengly, and some deliberetly. If you have the time, read the works of an Italian Communist Theorist named Antonio Gramsci, and you'll see what I am speaking of.

People cry foul over our control of the UN, but fail to realize, we had liberated an entire continent, and stabilize two regions of the world. I say, when that sort of accomplisment is made, we have every right to control things for awhile. Not forever, but for a time. Had we been able to maintain that control, things may not be as bad as they are today.

The UN ranges from comically inept to dangerous and pernicious. The sooner it goes the way of the League of Nations, the better for the world in general.
