I knew they would kill to make a profit but, this is ridiculous. Between this and their manufacturing of toys with lead to be sold in the U.S. I think its about time we returned the favor. Lets stop buying chinese goods. These scumbags will use any poison or extra added material available if it means they can stretch their profit margins. The United States is no test dummy! |

Avoiding anything Chinese is like trying to prevent a bowel movement..good luck! Besides, we should be more worried about China avoiding the U.S. considering they are our bankers! Furthermore, I don't think people realize that most of those poisonous toys everybody is up in arms about may be Made IN China...but are not Made BY China. Transnational American corporations such as Mattel are not blameless. They even issued a formal apology.
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpag...pagewanted=all Mattel wants to increase their bottom line so the Chinese oblige by accepting slave wages and using dangerous materials...this is what you call globalization. So if you want to boycott..you'll have to boycott U.S. transnational corps as well...you'll will have to live in a shack like Ted Kaczynski! Last edited by Mars : 05-05-2008 at 09:57 PM. |

actually, globalization is about freer exchange of goods and ideas with, on average, the result being a rise in living standards.

Police in southern China have discovered a factory manufacturing Free Tibet flags, media reports say.
The factory in Guangdong had been completing overseas orders for the flag of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Workers said they thought they were just making colourful flags and did not realise their meaning. But then some of them saw TV images of protesters holding the emblem and they alerted the authorities, according to Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7370903.stm |

CHINA'S GREED
You all miss the point...China is no greedier than any other major nation...the Chinese have an ancient civilization that has contributed much to humanity...rather, you should consider this...Who 'opened up' China?...It was Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon, both employees of the Rockefeller family...it was American and trans-national corporations who invested heavily in China, and therefore reap the biggest profits...it is these same trans-national corporations and banks that, to a large part, direct the Chinese economy...China is merely a source of cheap labour for them...as far as Wal-Mart, who really owns Wal-Mart?...is it the Walton family?...and, also, realize this...by it's purchase of US Treasury bonds, and rolling them over instead of cashing them in, China has been a major source of funding the War in Iraq, as well as keeping the American economy from completely collapsing...they help to prop up the US dollar, which in real terms is worth about $.20 right now...It is easy to blame the Chinese...why?...because then you can close your eyes as to who the real culprits are. |
