The Torture Playlist NEWS: Music has been used in American military prisons and on bases to induce sleep deprivation, "prolong capture shock," disorient detainees during interrogations—and also drown out screams. Based on a leaked interrogation log, news reports, and the accounts of soldiers and detainees, here are some of the songs that guards and interrogators chose. ![]() |

That's it, I can't live in the US any more. I was fine when the "torture" began, and prisoners at Guantanamo gained an average of 13 pounds during their stay and not 15, but this is too much. Forcing people to listen to Christina Aguilera and Rage Against the Machine? Downplay it all you want, but I have been forced to listen to such music before and it is torture indeed.
Edit - just noticed "Raspberry Beret" on there. COME ON, can't you at least play something from Purple Rain? Everyone knows the next album sucked. |

No torture playlist is complete without this little ditty. After one playing they'll confess to anything.
