I really don't think that the Guard would have helped.
The Bhutto family has suffered many times over... execution of her father... death of her brother... along with the fact that as the first moslem woman to run a country then to be deposed so fervently under corruption scandals. Sad day really... there are those who never liked her... not due to corruption... but to the fact that she was TOO Western in thinking, and a woman. Her recent return in to politics, was a bright flickering hope for western democracy in the region. That is now sadly extinguished. |
