im sorry...i was thinking about the fact that fox news originally "broke" this story and let my emotions get the better of me. of course the "terrorists" are capable of creating a large brush fire. that's simple arson. but i'm not entirely sure that it has quite the shock factor that they have in mind when they go about planning those attacks. plus it doesn't need a suicide bomber, which seems to be their m.o.

They could, absolutely, but so could a child playing with matches...
but why should Mexicans organize a 'terrorist organization' to set
fires and destroy property in Southern California, when they are getting so many services/benefits/opportunities for free?...this would be biting the hand that feeds them...Qui bono?...terrorism is a
weapon used by criminals, and I believe that that majority of criminals using this weapon have been governments/intelligence services....terrorism is also a 'fear' weapon that generates support for wars, draconian 'security' measures, and taking personal liberties...it is
also a 'camoflage' weapon, designed to cover-up/distract from financial
wrongdoing.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the Corral Canyon fire was 40 percent contained as of Sunday afternoon. The Malibu city Web site said officials expect to have the fire fully contained by Tuesday.

"Given the weather conditions, the wind subsiding ... the amount of fuel that has been consumed in there ... the number of personnel that we have here ... those are all reasons for optimism," Los Angeles County Fire Chief Michael Freeman told reporters Saturday night.

The wildfire began early Saturday and, fueled by dry Santa Ana winds and low humidity, grew quickly, forcing thousands to evacuate. Fire-friendly weather conditions hindered initial efforts to battle the blaze, which consumed dozens of homes in Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles County Fire inspector Sam Padilla said more homes were threatened, and the number of burned structures -- which stood Saturday at about 50 -- was expected to increase.
