This has to be one of the happiest days of my life! I hope he runs for President of the United States. Hillary, watch your back!

Crap continues to spout from Gore's beak. Just don't sue me for disagreeing.

Why would I do that?

I'm amazed that he won it.

Global warming may or may not be a reality and if it is, then it could just be a natural cycle of the Earth. Since Gore isn't a scientist he did nothing but think and talk about the issue from his own perspective.

I don't get it.

Dr. King won a Nobel Prize for thinking and talking about peace, civil rights and social justice. Given that he didn't 'invent' any of the aforementioned, he pretty much offered his unique and compelling perspective on those issues. Would that make him any less deserving?

In the words of Harry Truman - "there's nothing new under the sun". So, isn't it all pretty much people offering their "own perspective" ?

You are in psychology right? There's far more hard science in support of global warming than in your entire field. This statement boldly mistates scientific consensus. Yes there are dissenters but there are "scientists" who claim HIV doesn't cause AIDS also.

Also not sure how it falls under the peace prize.

Yes, but Dr. King was basically a social philosopher and activist. So, he won it for his nonviolent humanistic approach to a major set of issues, which could have turned into a bloodbath. He did indeed invent something, but it just wasn't science based, it was Philosophy of Life based. Nobel Prizes are definitely for that.

Since a philosophy can never be true or untrue, it doesn't have to be proven to be good. However, if I say that climate change, which should be observable, is caused by the consumption of Twinkies, then I had better be able to prove that.

To say that human production is causing the temp to go up is a big statement, especially when the Earth during the time of the dinosaur was a sweltering hellhole. Why was it then and not now? Maybe the time that humans have lived in is some weird cold period and ultra hot is normal. Who knows?
