I've got a technical question, too, for all involved - more than a few people have used the term "troll." I haven't seen it used in blogs before I visited these pages. Without making any accusations myself - I'm interested in its definition as it relates to Phillyblog. Any help?

Basically, someone who's only posting to rile people up without adding any pertinent facts or useful discourse to the conversation. Usually they have to be deliberately stirring the pot, rather than just holding a view that no one else agrees with, so it's hard to tell without being inside of Alderian's head what exactly his motivations are and if he really believes all the stuff he says... but I think he's trolling.

You sound like the kind of open-minded person that ought to be listened to closely.

One might ask just why people get so upset?

I like to think it's because most of us are trapped in a capitalist system that makes us, as Ice T said, either Pimps or Whores. You're either some sucker who will never get out of debt or so greedy that you'd cheat your gramma for a nickel.

Meanwhile, people in other countries are trying to change things and make a better life before they die pointlessly, just like everyone else. They must be evil though, because if you actually thought about what a hell you're living in, well...you might get sad. They're evil and stupid and up to something that's what's up behind that "stopping man's inhumanity to man" shiznit, right?

It's far more natural to be dominated by a bunch of "alphas" like the giant hairless monkeys that we are. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

more to the point, what you stir up are whether you are a troll or serious. As far as i can tell, you are an intelligent fellow who is one of the following:
1) a troll
2) a smart man with dumb ideas
3) so blinded by your one dimensional view that all other views melt together, and people's lives that are not devoted to your cause are worthless...much as a young Stalin, Lenin, Mao, or Hitler might think. Hell, even a Che Guevara who murdered relatively few people compared to the "greats."
