Default FT at Genuardi's

Genuardi's has FT Seattle's Best.

Starbuck's profit over cost is obscene when such huge profits aren't shared fairly with growers. However, Starbuck's is the largest buyer of FT coffee in the world, but for all the variety of coffees at a Starbuck's store the consumer isn't given the choice regarding buying a only FT coffee. You can't go in and buy a package of Fair Trade coffee. Starbuck's should offer the consumer the choice.

Thumbs up Kona - Fair Trade & American

If you wish to buy Fair Trade and American (US) coffee you can buy Kona:

Kona is absolutely delicious. But it's very expensive.

The reason is the small supply and the fair wages paid to the employees.

Keep repeating that and maybe it will become true.

I suppose that in Bizarro World the supply of Kona is great (and grown in Antarctica) and the wages are unfair.

Maybe - but in the real world, most coffee from fair trade producers is put into the regular market at regular prices, and demand for fair trade is almost perfectly correlated with demand for organic, which has a lot to do with making it more expensive.

I'm sorry I should have added this earlier. (I did mention that Kona is grown in the US in an earlier message.) Since Kona is grown in the US minimum wage is paid to the workers, it is not classified as Fair Trade. Since it is grown in a small area the supply is low and because it tastes great (and maybe less filling) the demand is high.
