American forces, tired of chasing Osama and his pals, have landed a new prize arrestee (who they apparently have been tracking through the nefarious chess parlors of Japan). Bobby Fischer, the known terrorist of the chess world was busted in Tokyo at the behest of American officials.

Fischer is wanted for playing chess in Yugoslavia.

When you can't get Osama, will Bobby Fischer do? Homeland security strikes again.

He was busted by Japanese authorities, not by the US, for trying to use an invalid passport. Japan intends to deport Fischer to the US.

He's rather ill mentally, always has been. He's praised the 9-11 attacks and holds extreme anti-Jewish views, though his mother was Jewish.

He is wanted by the US for playing chess in Yugoslavia - against sanctions. He was picked up in Japan using an invalid passport. Reportedly, US agents had been tracking him for some time in the Philipenes, Switzerland, Germany, and other places.

I agree that with Jayfar that he's probably nuts - I'd guess that he always was.

Just struck that our agents would be tracking him. It seems to me that they might have more important stuff to do.

One would think, but if he really was in favor of the 9-11 attacks, they might have reason to suspect he had ties to OBL (or UBL, depending on the network you watch).

I thnk he's just nuts. I can't imagine his having ties to anyone, other than himself.

Busted and indicted for playing chess in Yugoslavia seems a bit much - even if there were sanctions in place. Next, they'll bust the Baltimore Orioles for playing baseball in Havana.
