Post Items for Silent Auction DESPERATELY needed!

Can anyone help?

My name is Sara and I am a senior Fashion Marketing student at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. In my Public Relations class, we are planning an event benefiting Action AIDS of Philadelphia on Thursday, March 16th. We are asking local companies to donate an item for silent auction to raise funds for our cause at the event. So far, we have had gift certificates given and Tiffany & Co. even donated a pearl bracelet! Are there any business willing to donate an item or funds? We would recognize any company who has donated an item by placing their logo on a poster at the entry of the event.

The following is the press release for the event:

The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s Fashion Marketing Public Relations Class Presents

Spring Ahead, A Celebration Of Life

February 26, 2006 – Spring Ahead, A Celebration of Life, The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s Public Relations class fundraiser, will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Queue Restaurant and Bar located at 1718 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA to benefit ActionAIDS. The fundraiser will feature ½ price drinks, a silent auction, photography sale, gift bags, AIDS Awareness information and much more. Over 200 friends, family members, fashionistas, industry scouts, press and local celebrities are anticipated to be in attendance to help Philadelphia fight AIDS.

ActionAIDS, founded in 1986, is a Philadelphia-based organization in partnership with people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. They are a non-profit organization that strives to meet the physical and emotional needs of men, women, and children affected with HIV/AIDS. As Pennsylvania's largest AIDS service organization, ActionAIDS works out of 24 locations throughout Philadelphia. Each year they serve over 3,500 individuals and 150 families with HIV. ActionAIDS services include counseling, education and prevention and positive action work support programs.

Known for its programs in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Visual Merchandising, The Art Institute of Philadelphia attracts students nationwide. The Fashion Marketing Public Relations students are functioning as a team to produce the special event. Through this experience they are gaining a full understanding of fundraising, event planning, celebrity publicity and the satisfaction of working for a good cause.

It is a partnership of students, faculty, industry expertise and a charitable organization. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from any Art Institute of Philadelphia Public Relations Class Representative. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to ActionAIDS.
