Looks like 8 stories. Thats going to be a fabulous addition to the aesthetics and businesses of U.C. and Philadelphia. Penn is planning a couple dorms caddy corner to this project which will be the beginning of Penns move eastward towards CC.

The structure will have a five level parking garage and 290 apartments. From the looks of it, it's already billed as "luxury" apartments with definitive luxury amenities such as a pool and outdoor courtyards, etc. Practically like a hotel. The retail space being termed as upscale retail space. Somehow I don't think undergrad students is their target demographic. I think the market is aimed at graduate students and above.

So? Who'se fault is that? You could live in Prospect Park and take the less crowded and more reliable Warminster train. There's options. I choose to RC it to West Chester and take SEPTA if I getup before 7 and drive if later; and I refuse to entertain work out in the NW suburbs.

I've talked to 3 recruiters that are familiar with the "I dunwanna work in KOP/Wayne" phenomenon. One is in CC, another in Bala and the most recent is in KOP. I get referral emails all the time ("hey do you know a XXXX programmer? The job is in KOP. What? Oh he doesn't want to work up here I already talked to him...")

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk

People in the know ...know not to work in K of P if they want to have any free time. (Traffic Traffic Traffic)

Although the train doesn't work for me I never said it couldn't.

I'm really starting to think Septa's holding the region back more than anything else.

And it sucks having to kick yourself for drinking a big soda/tea/water before you leave the office. Because you are gonna be in a WORLD of hurt. I've been tempted to just pull over on the Schuylkill and just GO in those few times that traffic was so bad near Belmont I just shut my engine off and let the car coast down the hill (at 0.0004MPH).

I agree, although it's not entirely SEPTA's own fault. SEPTA is set up to fail...decisions must be made democratically, board members are political appointees...these are very bad things for trying to run a transit co.

I just want them to be on time.

I could deal with the dirt and the attitude...it was the "oh well" attitude to being utterly late that infuriated me.

"Sir the bus will be there shortly" doesn't make one happy after waiting 45 minutes in the cold rain for a bus that never showed becuase "well the driver never came in today so we didn't run the bus at that time".

Customer Service. For a supposidly democratic organization they don't seem to answer to anyone who actually rides.

Default Domus Construction Status and Pictures

http://www.uclandlord.com/luxurious-...iversity-city/

[Scroll down to "Construction Status" for latest pictures.]

Quote:
Originally planned for completion on December 2007, the project was announced ahead of schedule in June 2006, for completion in summer of 2007. As of late January 2007, the project remains ahead of schedule and apartments will be available for rent in June 2007.

Most of the exterior construction appears to have been finished. Passing by the site not long ago, I noticed that the majority of the workers focused on interior construction and finishing.
