I noticed in today's paper a series of public hearing announcements city projects, including 1 for 51st and Baltimore and another at 46th and Sansom. Both hearing announcements listed properties the city intended to condemn for redevelopment for "residential and other purposes." I assume the 51st/Baltimore relates to what SeanD talked about before, though I don't know for sure. What's going on at 46th/Sansom?

Yes. It would really be great if you could post or PM me that hearing's info. The thing at 51st and Baltimore sounds like action towards moving the the Richard Allen Charter School to 51st and Baltimore into a the new 8 story building BARC is planning to put up. Its sort of a little funny to talk to about BARC and Richard Allen Charter School as entirely separate entities since so many of the folks are the same. Rev. Patterson is the president of both boards, for example. I posted about it here, with a rendering here->
http://phillyblog.com/philly/showthread.php?t=7088 Besides my own personal interest, Cedar Park Neighbors, of which I am a member, has voiced sort of a freiendly curiosity about whats going on with such a major construction project potentially going up inside the bounds of Cedar Park. I must say BARC, though I laud their efforts in putting up the Mercy Health Center on the 5000 block of Baltimore, hasn't done the best job of reaching out to other neighborhood groups to put out the word about what they are apparently planning to put up. I hope so, too, SeanD. Is your specific address listed as one of the 40 properties? I assume it might be. It would be classic Philly to take over a block that's already being rebuilt--by you all and Kulture--when there are other nearly abandoned blocks nearby.
And what's going on at Sansom Street? |

Look at the border of the "Redevleopment Zone" in the pdf I posted in the other thread.

The newspaper ads list specific properties as being at stake in the city's plan. Do you have those addresses? Is MiaLou one of them? That's the question I meant to ask. Though maybe the BARC pamphlet you posted has the answer.

Sorry I don't have a link, but I recall there being a list of the condemned properties in the back of the sports section of last Thursday or Friday's Inquirer. There were properties in the 5100 block of Baltimore and 700 block of South 51st, but not the 5000 block of Baltimore.
