Default Apartments in University City

Hi there. I was recently offered a job working in Philly (Germantown area, on School House Lane), and I'm considering moving in or around the city. I've gotten feedback from other places that University City may be a good area for me to move (as well as Fishtown, but I'll post in that forum as well). My problem, tho, is that I have a limited income, and I would prefer to live alone if I can help it. With that said, can anyone tell me of any apartment complexes or homes that can be rented that I can look into? I am trying to keep rent to below $600 a month, and preferably including heat and water. I'd also like off street parking, but I know that is tough, so it isn't as big of an issue.

Thanks for the help!

A studio is fine. I'm a small female, I don't need much space.

Thanks.

Thanks. I've gone through apartments.com, rent.com, and apartmentratings.com numerous times, but since I live an hour away at the moment, I can't really come tour the area and look at apartments yet. I've only seen pictures and read ratings from others (where the majority seem to be negative, since people with positive experiences usually don't search those types of things out to post about it). I've been looking for first hand experience. And, in a month or so when I know exactly what I can afford I can really narrow the search and see where I'll be moving.

I rent a studio on 43rd St just north of Baltimore Ave. The rent is $475 plus utilities, but a few blocks west the rent drops. www.urbanbye.com

Awesome. Can you explain to me real quick, tho, what the units mean? Is that just a number of the unit, or is like "1F" 1st floor?

$475, even if it doesn't include heat, is pretty good. I really need to get down there and take some tours and figure out where I want to live. Thanks.

1F should mean 1st Floor Front. 1R 1st Floor Rear, etc...

Good Luck and welcome to town.
