Yes. They are scattered throughout the neighborhood. There are also some blocks, like Regent Square, that are made up of them ...
The farther west you go the more of them exist.

The Garden Courts buildings all have some variety of a Tudor thing going on. Just past those going west are some blocks of of your classic West Philly 2-story twins woth the pressed twin details on the front frieze and a front bay that overhangs the front porch. These are actually a good size 3 or 4 bedroom house. Sure there are probably about 30,000 houses in the city of Philadelphia with the same floor plan but they can be quite nice, esp. if the historical details have been preserved.
I know a couple that own a house on the 4900 block of Cedar and even though those houses are reasonable sized to smaller 2-stories that block has tons of cool Victorian details. |

Here are a few smaller homes:

A good bet is to get a big victorian that has more than one unit. You can live in half and rent out the rest. |

I'll let Greg answer that one. For the ones on Melville.
The Garden Courts houses I have been in all have nice details - not the 3-part foot-high sculpted baseboards that my house has -but nice details. Interesting shaped plaster openings between the living rooms on the ground floor, parquet floors on at least some of then, "real" doors, etc. Plus most of them are in way better shape than my house which has stained glass and lots of original 1890's details but to be honest is in other ways pretty beat up. |

melville is probably one of the most modest solid blocks in UC. Just about all of the homes are owner occupied, garages (as was mentioned), front porch, small yard, some have decks, mature street trees (probably one of the greenest blocks in UC, very intimate street/stoop life, probably efficient heating too. if the prices weren't inflated by the pennalex school, i'd buy there in a second.
