Default Upcoming UCity PB Get Together?

Oh btw, it occurs to me that those of us who live in UC don't necessarily have to wait for a blog get-together to get together, do we? Would love to meet anyone who's interested for a cup of tea one day soon in one of these fabulous places you guys keep recommending in the neighborhood.

Sounds great, five. Do you want to suggest a date and location or should we have a poll or something?

I'll leave the location up to you guys since you're more familiar with the neighborhood than I am. After 3 months in the area, I just got around to getting a burger from Lee's on Baltimore. Not bad, but the fries were yucky -- cold and frozen-tasting.

Any day works for me since we'll be somewhere where I can walk home!

Let me put on my thinking cap. I am working on some minor plumbing issues at my house right now and my better half is already a little peeved at the amount of time I spend on blog stuff currently. It might take a day or two. You said tea so I assume you mean a cafe meet-up rather than a bar or restaurant with drinks, correct?

Well, here's the thing:

A. I'm a green tea girl, although I do sip a little decaf every now and again...

B. I'd like my significant other to join us if he's free, and he doesn't do bars anymore...

C. Since I don't drive, I'll likely be walking home from wherever we go -- I just figured since the weather will be getting warmer soon, it would be nice to meet for brunch or something. (Of course, I just looked out of the window and it's snowing -- dammit -- so maybe spring will NOT be here as soon as I'd hoped)..

D. Funds are low. In fact, I'm on a temp assignment that is about to end and I have nothing lined up right now. If I don't find something soon and I mean within the next week or so, I'll be in serious trouble -- again. Sooooo, can't do dinner or lotsa drinks on my budget right now.

Kaffa Crossing or the new "tea-oriented" Green Line in the old Cafe Clave? I haven't been in the Cafe Clave in its new reformation yet.

I know the Satelite and La Naz also serve coffee and tea but I am not sure what the tea options at La Naz are and I would be suggesting around 6:30 or 7:00 pm on a weeknight -which is when the Firehouse Farmer's Market is shutting down for the night so the Satelite would be out.

Now you're talking. Incidentally, my S.O. (or as I like to call him, my O.O.M.A. = Object Of My Affection) and I walked by La Naz over the weekend. We wanted to give it a try but the door was locked. Since the gate was up, I figured the proprietor had just stepped out for a bit. We tried about 20 minutes later but still, no one was there.

Kaffa Crossing is a little larger and has the option of some decent Ethiopian food if some folks are hungry for more than the typical cafe bagel but I could be swayed either way. How soon do you think we should have this UCity PB get together?

It might be cool to see if Molly077 could participate since she should be moving to town right about now.

Molly077 just PM'd me that she made it to town, so I think it twould be cool for us to plan a West Philly PB meeting that involved her and her hubby.
