Here's the other thread on these from when they started excavation and underminded the house next door right off the bat.
http://www.phillyblog.com/philly/uni...-florence.html As I recall each of the trinty-condo things is supposed shooting to be around $250K. Not sure about condo fees. One advantage about going condo is that they could never divide the lot into 4 smaller ones otherwise apparently. i kind of wonder about the impact of the garages on 49th st. trolley and bus traffic actually.

And into and out of service. Yes. So every 34 trolley in service starts and ends its day on 49th.

I walked my dog passed the building this morning and noticed that someone had spray painted "BLIGHT" on the contractor's sign. I don't know if I agree with that assessment entirely, but the structure sure is out of character with the buildings that surround it. It's like someone extirpated a bit of the suburbs and plonked it down at the corner.

while many victorians in the area have the same roof so do a lot of 70s and 80s suburban buildings. i don't like it.

the roof line is all wrong, but it's the wall of garages on 49th that really kills me (and the streetscape.) perhaps the architect meant them as a memento mori
![]() if nothing else it is good to see that developers now value our neighborhood enough to invest in it. now if we could just convince the folks who live across the street from the garages... Last edited by blakeyblakey : 07-10-2008 at 01:38 PM. |
