Default WP Realtor recommendations?

Hi,

I'm moving to Philadelphia, and considering buying in WP near the university. Can anyone recommend a good realtor for the area?

Thanks,

Josh

Default Ryan Hartman

We liked Ryan Hartman, formerly of Common Ground, currently of Remax.

He is a West Philly home owner (near the Spruce Hill Green Line Cafe), knows the streets extremely well, and will work extremely hard for you. We ended up with a great place in Powelton. I'm sure there are plenty of other good ones as well if you don't hook up with Ryan.

I've bought houses both from O'Donnell real estate and Urban Bye real estate. They are the two most local organizations who have been in the neighborhood forever. as prices have shot up other bigger realtors like Prudential have started listing houses too.

I would definitely drive around the neighborhood and look at signs.

Besides Chris O'Donnell (lives on 41st St.) at O'Donnell and Melani Lamond (lives on 46th St.) at Urban & Bye, other neighborhood realtors that I know are Liz Campion (lives near 47th St.) at Prudential and Belynda Stewart (lives near 48th St.) at Coldwell Banker.

We (O'Donnell Real Estate) are the best in my humble unbiased opinion

In all seriousness I think we are. In this neighborhood or really any Philly neighborhood - things are often block by block and the condition of the houses vary greatly. So you want to work with someone who is VERY familiar with the neighborhood, not just can find their way around.

So I would suggest whereever you look - go with a local Realtor. When you are talking about the difference of 10's of thousands of dollars you don't want to just work with your cousin boyfriends neighbor who is doesn't even know what a catchment is let alone the boundaries. Go with an expert. You will be glad you did.
