I believe that it is possible to create something with iron that is both secure AND attractive. If anyone has a recommendation for a contractor who can make my vision a reality please post a reply. Thanks. |

True enough, though you're the first I've heard that prefers the bars.
If no one gets back to you, do a search. I know the subject has come up before and believe there's been some recommendations of companies that do iron working in the area.

You can have custom bars made by this artist whose shop is in West Philly. For the life of me I can't remember his website, but I think his name is Andy. You've probably seen his work around town. Any fancy window grate or iron gate are probably his work. Anyone know who I'm talking about? I've seriously been going nuts looking for his website.

We had a new railing and a flower box made by Anvil Iron Works:

We are looking for a reputable company to install a good bit of wrought iron fencing around our property. Anvil seems to be the company that comes up most often. i called them and told them i have a potentially significant job, and they have not yet called me back. not a great sign for a contractor.
Has anyone had a relatively large amount of iron fencing installed, and if so, can you please recommend a reputable contractor? i was hoping to get a few estimates. Thanks.

I don't know how true or even important it is either but I've heard that these glass blocks don't offer basements nearly enough ventilation either. I asked about them for my home and that was the response I was given from an installer. He could have been yanking my chain to try to make a bigger sale though, but it's worth considering.
