Especially since this lot has a view that competes with the South St. Bridge as one of the most impressive views of the skyline in town. i always envied the view the folks on the block facing this lot must have from their 3rd floor windows, but I guess not if they put in townhouses.

You forgot the put skylines in quotes like "skyline" since this city doesn't really have a skyline.

Let me tell you a story. I was coming home from the airport the other night and I looked up and saw all the light and thought how good the "skyline" looked. I keep looking, then I saw the real "skyline" and realized I had been looking at all the refineries. I looked at both and realized the refineries skyline looked much better than the CC "skyline".

That's a good question. I guess I don't really have a good definition of skyline. I just know Philadelphia isn't the definition of it in my mind.

That's a bit harsh.

google (images) philadelphia skyline and you will find some fairly interesting photos.

If you are looking for NYC midtown . . . or downtown, this isn't it.

But, it sure beats some cities.

Maybe. However, I think it's a compliment to the refinaries out there.

I've seen images and it doesn't do anything for me.

Looking at that pic, we don't beat it by much. Also, that link doesn't work in firefox for me.

Philadelphia's an old city, it should have a decent skyline. It really doesn't. It's got what 9 big buildings plus the new one going up near 30th st?

Odragon, your comments border on the side of ignorance.

A skyline is the outline of a city that would make it recognizable to someone who lives there or has visited. How can anyone make a statement that Philly does not have one when there are clearly distinguishable buildings, bridges, etc. from miles away?
