That reminds me -- what recommendations does anyone have for Chinese food delivery to the 46th and Pine vicinity? I've lived here for years and have never ordered Chinese. Thanks!

Don't forget the Satellite Cafe at 50th and Baltimore. They have delicious bagels and wraps, and the coffee's good. If anything, they're UNDERpriced.

I think it's a real gap in the neighborhood and an opportunity for a new business person. The Chinese food options are not good out here, at least with those I've tried. I had the misfortune of trying Lucky, and that may have been the worst take-out Chinese I've ever had. The place on the 44XX block of Locust is probably the best bet, but we usually pick up at Beijing on Penn's campus.

The best chinese places are Won on 40th b/t Walnut & Locust and the place a few doors down from Wawa, near 38th & Spruce (Beijing?). Don't know if either place delivers, though.

As for pizza, Colonial's good, as is Penn. I hear Fiesta's good, but have yet to try it myself. Vientiane (Laotian) is also not far from there (nice sit down place, don't think they deliver).

Evergreen is a goodish Chinese delivery place. A big step up, in my opinion, from the other places in the neighborhood, including the ones closer to campus. Still nothing special but solid.

47th and Baltimore has some of the greatest restaurants in West Philly, with Dahlak, Vientienne and Abbracchio. the Satellite at 50th and Baltimore is a great coffeeshop and for good late night chinese grub there's Lucky's.

Evergreen is on the 4700 block of Spruce, on the south side. The restaurant itself, like a lot of Chinese places in the neighborhood, is basically just the takeout window, but the food is a step up from the other places we've tried, including Beijing and the other places closer to campus. They deliver and are very reliable and usually fast.

There's Justin's on 51st and Cedar. Great sandwiches for an even greater price.

For real. They do a really good job over there. I recommend the black bean wrap.
