The Hideaway bar at 51st and Baltimore is for sale for 419 with a liquor license included. I know nothing about the bar business, but that seems like a pretty reasonable price, no? I'll say this, the regular patrons are certainly committed to the product...

that bar is shady. I once went there (during normal business hours) and there was lots of people inside but there doors were locked. I knocked on the door and someone came and looked at me, and walked away without unlocking.:o

hopefully it's future owners won't be so shady, or rude, or snobby....or whateve.

It sounds a little high to me but I don't know a ton about the bar businsess. I wonder if another Ethiopian will buy this or if that era is over. It seems like the African immigrants seem to have some sort of forumula for making bars that find some way to bridge the gap between older long time Af Am regulars and newcomers whether they be Af Am, African immigrant or white.
