One more option in West Philadelphia is the YMCA.

I dont know much about it, beyond the fact that they have some yoga. Im sure the classes are nothing fancy, but the facilities have recently been overhauled and seem quite nice.

Cheers.

Default New Yoga Studio on Baltimore

Wake up Yoga is moving into the space where UC Pets used to be at 4916 Baltimore Ave. It will be the second location, the first one is at 23rd and Parish. They plan to start classes in November.

Default University City Yoga

I recently opened a yoga studio in University City called "University City Yoga." The space is small, so I hadn't been advertising it much. However, I recently added more teachers and more classes. I'm also in the process of locating a larger space.

If you have any questions about the studio or my style "Forrest Yoga," please let me know.

Good luck,
Stephen

have you looked into the property on 46th street that used to be a Video Store? I know the owner doesn't want a restaurant there, and I think yoga spot would be great there, though I'm not sure of the square footage.

Yes, that would be a great spot. Unfortunately it didn't work out for us.

Default Take the Lead Dance Studio

I just found out this weekend that there is a new dance studio in what used to be a gift shop at 47th & Pine. The studio offers Latin & Swing classes, as well as Tai Chi and Yoga. I don't think they have a website yet, but my neighbor is the owner/ opperator and he is vary friendly if you want to pop your head in and get a schedule. I think that this is a great addition to that corner, where the retail before seemed so dead.

So I think that makes three new studios in the hood in the space of a month or so, and I think there is definately the need for all three, as most people I know here practice yoga or want to. I plan to check out all of these spots.
