I knew it was him but I don't work when he does his dirty work. 18th district officers had been on the lookout for him and snagged him last week while in the middle of another theft. We also know where he goes to sell his stolen merchandise now. This is a big arrest and while he is still in custody, a big push is underway to keep him there for a while. I will keep you posted.

NO robberies in the area lately which is a good thing.

Sorry I'm slacking on the reporting....just been a little busy. Will try and pick it up the next week.

I wonder if this is the same guy my roommate caught on film. Idiot was breaking into cars at 11:30 PM on the most well-lit section of our block.

As I reported to the Fuzz, he was still in my car when I caught him still in my car going through my glove box about a year ago. The guy has the brazenness of someone whose drug habit has seriously dulled their mental acuity years ago.

Both guys are pretty tall. I would be interested in seeing the tape if you still have it...

My roommate turned the tape into the police the next day. We called 911 as it was happening and they checked it out that night. I don't think the guy was all that tall. African American light skin bald I believe, probably mid-30s.

Default police activity at 42nd and Locust, 5/13

Just wondering if anyone knows what was going on yesterday around 4:30 p.m. at 42nd and Locust. Two squad cars were already there when I got there, and two or three others came racing up quickly after that. One cop had a young man pinned to the trunk of his squad car and was hollering orders at two other cops who were frantically searching under cars and on the sidewalk at the SE corner of the intersection.

Quite a scene as parents walked out of PIC's driveway with small kids in tow, right into the center of it!

Default Break-ins at 4400 block of Osage

I just found out today that someone broke into a number of apartments in a building on the 4400 block of Osage this morning between 10 and 11:30. From what one of the people there said, only DVDs and loose change was stolen from the apartments, but the management company is strengthening the locks on all of the apartments. This follows just a couple weeks after someone attempted to break in to the building through the screen of the mailroom window.

Robbery. A group of about 8 males punched a college-age student in the face and took his cell phone. Three arrested and the phone was recovered.

Apparently there was a robbery right in front of my place by 45th and Osage early this morning. I woke up at ~3:00 am to some guy screaming bloody hell. Apparently they didn't take his cell phone, because he called the cops who were there in like 30 seconds. I overheard him say two guys robbed him at gun point as he was trying to enter his apartment. He left with the cops to try and track down the guys, I believe. Any chance they caught the perps, Fuzz?

There was a strange scene the other night.. My boyfriend and I got off the EL at 40th St. around 12:15 AM or so and there was this huge mass of teens walking up the sidewalk/street from chestnut to market..There was a strange tension in the air and there were a few bike cops around calling for backup on their walkie-talkes.. It looked like this huge gang fight was about to break out.. We walked through the crowd and ducked down a side street and were just really curious as to what was going on, and if anything really happened afterwards ? thanks
