What's with the helicopters/sirens all over the area? This has been going on for a few hours and seems like a massive manhunt. From my vantage point, it seems to be coming from 52nd and south of Baltimore--maybe futher SW but it's hard to tell from here.

Suspect Apprehended In Sergeant's Shooting Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Following an intense manhunt, police have apprehended a third suspect in the shooting death of a Philadelphia Police Sergeant.

According to police, suspect Eric Floyd was found inside a home in the Southwest Philadelphia section Wednesday evening.

Floyd, 33, was found inside a home in the 5400 block on Windsor Avenue. He was escorted into a 24th Police District wagon at about 12:05 a.m. and arrived at Police Headquarters at about 12:18 a.m.

Floyd has been on the run since the shooting death of Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski Saturday morning.

.

This is like 5 blocks west of my house. I'm so thankful to the news media for telling me that I live in Southwest Phila. I would have labored under the misapprehension that I lived in West Philadelphia, perhaps forever, without them...

When looking at Google Maps, it looks like the 5400 block of Windsor is in Kingsessing. That is Southwest Philly, no?

My bad, I've taken a look around at some online resources. Woops.

After having her window smashed for the 3rd time in less than a year (a week after my window was smashed, different blocks) a friend of mine is leaving University City. I wonder how many others these break ins have chased away?

Sorry to hear that. We just arrested the male responsible for most of the car break-ins in the 48th to 50th St area. His name is Bernard Evans. His cousin was also helping him. We charged him with 9 of them last week but I am POSITIVE he is responsible for about 200 in the past few months. I don't care if I post his name, I would post his picture if I could. I knew it was him but I don't work when he does his dirty work. 18th district officers had been on the lookout for him and snagged him last week while in the middle of another theft. We also know where he goes to sell his stolen merchandise now. This is a big arrest and while he is still in custody, a big push is underway to keep him there for a while. I will keep you posted.

NO robberies in the area lately which is a good thing.

Sorry I'm slacking on the reporting....just been a little busy. Will try and pick it up the next week.

thanks for the good work, fuzz! this is appreciated.

Thanks for the hard work! My friend's car was vandalized on Tuesday night near Baltimore and Farragut. Nothing taken either, nothing to take.

Realistically, what kind of punishment does this guy have coming to him?
