fuzz - who would i call to report vandalism stretching from woodland to at least hazel all along 49th st.?

there have been about 40 or 50 buildings, from what i've seen, spray-painted with silver paint - just in the last two days.

i spent saturday cleaning off mine and all my neighbors buildings with some borrowed equipment. now today the tags are back and bigger than before. they are about 8 feet long and 4 feet high usually. its out of control. always silver paint, same couple of tags, all the way down to woodland, i haven't checked north of hazel.

i'm going to take a walk north and see how far up it goes.

tags don't go north of hazel. at least not for a few blocks. 40-50 tags turned out to be a little low of a guess. some on the front of the houses, some on the side, a few in black but mostly in silver. reads 'razzy' or 'lazzy' or something like that with a few stars and sometimes a few $ signs.

person would have to be over 6 feet tall. it isn't a young kid. when i was cleaning them off before i had to stand on my toes to get the high spots, and i'm 6 feet tall. i could tell he would be taller than me.

anyway, this dude is responsible for virtually every tag on 49th st. there is no other graffiti except this... there is a lot of this suddenly. two nights in a row so far, we'll see if he comes back again tonight.

i walked up and down 50th and 48th and found zero tags.

Default car break-in

my car was broken into over the weekend. fortunately i don't keep much of anything in it - they got my first aid kit and some scratched old CDs.

i dutifully filed police report and a roll call to the district.

argh.

Where was the break-in? Is it in the area south of Spruce where the other recent window-smashings have occurred?

I noticed a few smashed car windows on the 4600 block of Pine over the weekend.

I walk my pooch all over the neighborhood, and I've been seeing more glass than usual the last few weeks. It's that time of year--it's getting warm enough to be out and about, smashing things and mugging people. Ahhhh... city life.

I've lived in University City for the past 10 years...I have never had a problem with crime...take reasonable prcautions if you are afraid, and get a gun and learn how to use it if you have a family...don't depend on the police, who do nothing...get pro-active...also, get to know your neighbors, and people in your community you might not usually associate with.

Default car

oh sorry, i thought i had edited that post. 47th between hazel and larchwood.

it's strange. i always thought my car WAS a car alarm. it's a busted old chevy, ripped seats and dents. i don't keep anything of value in it, visible or otherwise. i have wiper fluid and a blanket in the trunk and usually some empty beverages laying around. oh and this week there's even a wilted old banana peel on the passenger side floor, right next to the giant bleach stain on the carpet.

i mean who in their right mind, or even in their half mind, would think oh, i bet there's some awesome stuff in that aged, piece of crap car with garbage in it, ohh yeaaah. jackpot !

whatever brilliant a-hole, or gaggle of a-holes, is currently hitting the cars around here - they're not even targeting things that look like good targets, just doing it for... band aids and loose change. so stupid. i mean what is the point? *rhetorical question obviously: am just venting*
