some hispanic dude is knocking on doors in west powelton asking for cab fare to see his girlfriend, Angie Carpenter, with a lacerated liver in Doylestown hospital room 305. Just call if you don't believe me, man

Default robbery at gun point

On Tuesday Feb 5 someone was robbed at gun point on 47th st between Osage and Larchwood at 7:30 pm. I found her things about 20 minutes later in the alley while walking my dog. I heard this weekend the guy was caught. I wanted to see if that was true.

Default Stray Pit Bulls

Saturday Feb 1 my dog and husband were attacked by a stray pit bull on the 4600 block of Larchwood. Everyone is slowly recovering. My husband beat the pit bull off our dog or he said the pit bull would of killed him. That is when my husband got bit on his hands. The dog after being beaten was placid so the cops were able to take him away.

Then this past Friday walking my now recovering dog I saw another stray dog on 46 th St. about a half a block away. I turned down Larchwood and headed home. I turned back twice and did not see the dog. I got close to home, my husband was outside talking and I started to tell him about the dog. I turned around and there was the dog following me and it was a pit bull. This one was brown and white. I got our dog in the house quickly and the dog crossed the street and headed up toward 48th street.

What is going on with all the recent stray pit bulls? Is someone dropping them off? Who can I call when I see one and will they come and get it? The only problem is not knowing where it will go.

Just fabulous, now I have to worry about my three year old getting mauled by a dog while we walk to the corner. I live right around this area and have never seen a stray dog, hopefully these were isolated incidents.

I'm sorry about your dog and your husband. I hope they are recovering well.

after our dog got bit this winter, I did some research on dog bites and found out that stray dogs are not likely to bite humans, although dogs that were let go by their abusive owners are the most likely to bite a human or another dog. My guess is someone is using them to fight, and when it appears as if the dog's "usefulness" is over, they get dumped. I am sure these kinds of dog owners are fully aware of what trouble they could make for themselves if they disposed of the dogs in a way in which the remains could be traced back to them, like with Michael Vicks.

I used to live next to 3 different pits that had been "dumped" just like this, for not being good fighting dogs, and then adopted. One of them they found left tied to lampost near 49th and Springfield. Over time the dogs adjusted and were very friendly, lovable pets but those kinds of emotional scars take a while to heal.

I also had a friend who had his dog kidnapped from his yard near 40th and Lancaster to be used as "bait". They intentionally cut some of the dogs major ligaments to try and train their fighting dogs to attack the weakened dog. My friend later recovered his dog and ended up paying for thousands of dollars of reconstructive surgery.

I'm not really afraid of pits as a breed, I know they can be and are loving dogs and great pets. I am afraid that my fear about my son would set them off. I have experience dealing with stray dogs with unknown temperaments, but being alone dealing with it is quite different than being with my child.

Unhappy That is among the most vile

and disgusting things that I've heard in a while. I hope that your friend's dog is okay, and that the scuz that did this wise up quickly.

My firm belief in karma may be the only thing that stops me from wanting to slap the boogers out of such creeps.

The pit bull was not after my husband but after our dog. My husband got bitten on his hand trying to get the pit bull off our dog. The second dog I saw, I think was trailing my dog, but once I got her in the house the dog crossed the street. I have not seen a stray dog in a long time and 2 in one week is way too much for me.
