Sorry. Happened the same way as the last one, only with more people and a somewhat different pizza selection.

Results just in from the Great UC Village Eatoff:

#1 2.95 Allegro $18.73
#2 3.00 Colonial $15.95
#3 3.35 Varsity $13.22
#4 4.05 Fiesta $13.75
#5 4.75 Royal $14.98
#6 4.85 AccuPizza $15.40
#7 5.05 Papa John's $16.04

This was a blind tasting -- pizzas were labelled A through G with little flags on toothpicks. Tasting was more or less simultaneous over a period of 90 minutes. Rating was on a scale from 1 (best) to 7 (worst). There were 20 raters. Average rank is given in the second column. Price is for two large plain cheese pizzas, including tax but not tip.

oh okay thanks. is Colonial Pizza really that good? I once ate Fiesta and all I can say is that I'd rather have frozen generic supermarket pizza. ever since that horrible experience I vowed never to have west philly pizza ever again. if I want pizza, I just go to South Philly:tomato:

ps. how come none of these damn emoticons work!?!?!?

I think it's ok. Sort of depends on whether you dig that style pizza. Personally, I like the kind of pizza they sell at 12th & Berks on Temple campus (Eddie's and Fame's, both of which are good). Village and Colonial are probably the best I've had in West Philly, with honorable mentions for Penn and Allegro (College Pizza's price is right, but I'm not so crazy about their crust -- kida cardboardy).

I think it happened during the last upgrade of the message board software and nobody's gone and fixed it. There's a thread about it in the Suggestion Box forum.

To this server? I don't have acces to it. Not sure who all does, but none of us regular mods do.

Feel free to post in that thread I linked to and suggest it. The worst that can happen is nothing at all
