Default Food Trucks

My sister works at Penn and I want to meet her for lunch at a food truck. Which would you recommend?

The Magic Carpet, at 34th and Walnut. They have amazing home-made vegetarian food.

Yeah, Magic Carpet is great, for the non-cheesesteak crowd (which includes me). Recently I've been going to the Mexican truck on the south side of Market between 34th and 36th (I think it's called Fresco), which is pretty good, not stellar by comparison to actual Mexican restaurants, but good enough for me to keep going back. Also for egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwiches and the occasional cheese hoagie I like the truck on 34th just north of Market.

The area near the gym on 38th and Walnut has some great trucks along with a seating area for eating outside. You have a choice between: Sushi/Japanese, Middle Eastern (Kabob, Falafel), grilled fare/sandwiches, chinese, and there used to be an Indian food truck but I am not sure if it is still there.

You could also try Hemo's trucks on either the southwest corner of 38th and Walnut or on the south-side of 36th (or is it 37th?) and Spruce. They make great cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, and you have to try the grilled chicken at least once.

The best chinese food truck by far is Yue Kee, on 38th in between Locust and Walnut. However, be prepared for a long wait and a somewhat interesting ordering experience.

There used to be an awesome Crepe truck located along Sansom near the Athletic Center. I think someone informed me this truck has since moved to Temple. Can someone confirm or deny this?

They own the crepe restaurant in Houston Hall now so no truck near the gym. No idea if they have one near Temple.

I love the crepe truck that's on Spruce at~37th street. Cheeseburger crepe = best!

The crepe truck on Norris between 13th & Broad (Temple campus) is excelent, but totally unrelated to the one at Penn AFAIK. Last time I tried to go, I couldn't find it, but maybe I was too late (most trucks at Temple in only open roughly during business hours -- sort of like the trucks at Penn, I suppose. I have yet to eat at a Penn truck since I don't work in the neighborhood and they're all closed when I get home.

Along Spruce just past Magic Carpet is Le Ahn, a good Chinese cart, and Casablanca, which does nice Middle Eastern food.

As far as non-cart lunch options go, the crepe place in Houston Hall (Pari) is worthwhile, as is Tony Luke's further down Spruce in the other direction. Then there's Greek Lady Olga over on 40th St., which used to be a cart but now has its own space.
