OK that was weak stab at an eye catching title but as I have inferred elsewhere Cedar Park Neighbors is hosting a meeting open to the general meeting open to the public about fire prevention and recovery. A lot of thought has been put towards making this meeting alittle more relevant to issues specific to old houses and West Philly than your typical "test the batteries on smaoke detector" fire prevention spiel. Discussion is going to touch on issues relating to wiring and misues of extension chords in old houses and specific causes of the rash of recent fires in the neighborhood. Also reps from the Fire Dep't , L&I and the Red Cross will talk about where to go for help after a fire and what to do about evauating the damage and recovery options for house that has had a fire on your block. Cold wether and space heaters makes this meeting more timely than ever.
