I agree that the station jam-up at 15, 13, 11, 8, 5, 2 seems like overkill. Rather than eliminating some stations, which would be costly, wasteful, and inconvenient to people who really rely on one particular station, they should alternate with their A and B trains, the way they do the stations in West Philly and the Frankford extension. The A Train could stop at 15, 11, and 5, and the B train could stop at 15, 13, 8, and 2. Tourists who get confused and get on the wrong train going to Independence Hall might have the inconvenience of getting off at second and enjoying Elfreth's Alley, the Betsy Ross House, Christ Church Cemetary and all that on the way back to their destination.

that doesnt work because septa doesnt run enough trains. you COULD be waiting 15 minutes for what is supposed to be a rapid transit system. also, this sort of system makes sense in a 4 track tunnel, where express trains can operate alongside local trains. but alas, the el is just 2 tracks.

i'd like to know how many trains septa operates during the peak hours of the day on MFL.

Even rearranging the stations to be 14th and 18th would be great as well as opening the franklin square and bridge (del ave) stops. suddenly it's worth it to ride from 8th and market to 18th and locust if I live in rittenhouse or SWCC, or whatever it's called these days. I'd love to see a tunnel under the schuylkill and a line extended to at least 52nd under, say, spruce or up 22nd and out on the parkway or to mexico.
Patco and the sub are the same size...where the El is narrow gauge. There is a sealed connection at 8th between the sub and Patco.
