You can check out our website at
www.odonnellre.com . The thing is most apartments are rented out between May and September. Since we only have a couple of weeks left in August there is not a great selection but we still have a few decent apartments left. If you are able to move after Sept 1st, sometimes you will be able to get a better deal as most (smart) landlords will cut their prices after Sept 1st so they can get anybody in there.
I do not actually handle the management here, but I have dealt with property management before and it kinda sucks. Just people calling to complain. It is a thankless job. Often you are stuck between owners who do not want to spend any money and contractors who never do what they say they will do when they say will do it. Then you are dealing with tenants that are pissed because their roof has been leaking on their bed for a month or the have mice that have overtaken their apartment.
I think most tenants of the places we manage would give us a good grade but I am sure there are people out there who think we suck. One thing to keep in mind with any of these places in Philly is almost everything is a least 50 years old and therefore needs constant maintenance. It is difficult dealing with pest problems. If you have mice ( and I know firsthand how difficult they are to get rid of especially in the winter) you have to get rid of the food source, try to plug any holes, put out traps, poison ect. After that you just have hope it will get better. One thing that usually makes things worse is if one of your neighbors is a pig and their place is overrun with mice. Cats usually help but not always. And often the tenant say they keep their place immaculately clean and the pest guy comes back and says it is a mess.
Tough to deal with.
