Many strange places in Philly. I am so glad the site has when his films are going to air!

I love him too! In fact my friends and I have given him sort of a cult following. We just think he is really cool - the stuff he shows you is great but wouldn't be anywhere near as entertaining without Ron himself and his almost poetic manner of speaking.

We like him so much we even have a myspace group that claims he is god. Sure, it's hyperbole but hey who's counting?

Well if he is not God, he is certainly Mr. Philadelphia! He needs a title of some kind!

We were just watching him last night on TV, he is a charactor, and you have to love low budget locally produced TV, there's something that's just so......Philly about the whole thing!

Ron Avery's City of Brotherly Mayhem is my favorite book about Philly.

I did not know he had a book. I'll have to look into that!

I wonder if he does appearances/speaking engagements. If not, he should!

He is my favorite! I think he lives in QV because I always see him. One time I was walking by a chinese restaurant and saw him-went up and introduced myself and told him how much I loved his show. He got all excited and said something like "so, you recognize me from tv?". He was super, super nice and always waves when he sees me on the street.

Perfectly stated. Anyone else talking about the history of the Fishtoen Cemetray on Frankford Ave would put me to sleep.

By the way, echoofformless; is this Liz???

Ron Avery still does walking tours for the Mt. Airy Learning Tree that you can sign up for. I see his name every time I get a new brochure in the mail.

Also, I bought some DVDs from Ron once. I forget the address he gave me to send the check, but it was somewhere near the Washington/Moyamensing area.
