I recently picked up a copy of the book "Weird Pennsylvania" at the bookstore. I've previously enjoyed flipping through "Weird NJ", so when I saw this one, I had to get it.
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...sbn=1402732791 Some pretty neat stuff in there. Ghost stories, satanic cults, big foots, etc. A few Philly things in there, of course. Now, I've read about a number of these things, but I really want to go check out a "gravity hill", where things appear to roll uphill. New Paris, PA even built a website to tout their gravity hill. I'm sure it's probably an optical illusion, but I feel the need to experience one for myself. http://www.gravityhill.com/ (the New Paris site). __Jason |

I just picked up "Weird US" this weekend since I already own Weird PA and Weird NJ.
I would actually like to see Centralia, PA, which has an underground mine fire that began in 62 and it's still burning, and some people still live there! It was actually in the inspiration for the movie Silent Hill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centralia%2C_PA
