Hello Michelle, how are you doing? Wow, I never expected to hear from anyone on this forum! What a surprise! I was in Eastern from December of 1987 to July of 1988. I was up in Unit 7 on the top floor. After two months, they transfered me to the cottage called Croyden. This is the first time since I got out of there that I have had any contact with anyone who was also there! I was only 11 years old then. I had a severe case of AD/HD and the doctor here in Lancaster, PA thought I would be better off in a state hospital! Well, thanks to Dr. Conrad, I was out of that awful place in just 7 months. I actually had an indefinate involuntary commitment just for AD/HD. I am assuming you know this doctor also? Well, I am also wiling to talk about my experience there. It is not as hard to do as it once was, thanks to a great psychologist here at home. I have suffered from PTSD after that experience. Well, I won't make this a long message, just wanted to connect with you, and to thank you for replying to my post. Feel free to contact me anytime you want! I hope you have a great day/evening. -Sincerely, Jason Swearingen
