A very ugly and painful loss to the Devils last night. I wonder whether our goalies will be good enough this year. What do you think?

I have a soft spot for the Flyers, if only because their rabid and devoted fan base has NEVER given up. Some teams should be so lucky. I remeber when going to Devils games was like visiting people in witness protection.

Sadly, my Rangers will be the laughingstock once again....but what I'm wondering is how the league will do financially? They seem to have hit a wall recently - in attendance, in talent, and most certainly in television ratings.

What a game last night? I think that everyone scored! Toronto got smacked around all night. Unfortunately Esche gave up a sad goal, but at least the offense was strong enough to hide it.

For those who have forgotten, including at times myself, the Flyers season is still in progress. Between the Eagles play-off run and the Flyers less than stellar play, it's easy to forget.

So, of course, the first news to report on the team in a while is a trade. ESPN reports that Mad Dealer Clarke has sent Justin Williams to Carolina for defenseman Danny Markov.

I was going to make a joke here, but it's not funny anymore. Seriously, how many times has Clarke now traded a young, talented player? I've lost track. I understand the team's been hit by a rash of injuries on the D, but giving up Williams? I just don't get it.

If only we would finally make a trade for a REAL goalie.

Until then all other trades seem worthless.

This trade did not have to be made. All they needed was just another body to add to the ranks with Therien, Johnson, Pitkanen, Weinrich, and Vandemeer until Ragnarsson returns in a few. Desjardins and Seidenberg will be back by April when we all know the real season starts.

But nothing surprises me anymore after Clarke traded Maxime Ouellet and three picks to rent a 39-year old Adam Oates for a couple of months.

Forget what I said. Vandemeer just went down with a separated shoulder.
