Default 2003 World Series

Now that the Yankees stopped messing around and finished off the Red Sox in what some Sox fans are calling a worse lost than Game 6 of the '86 World Series, we now have a Yankees-Marlins match-up.

Does anyone else, other than you goofy Yankees fans, have any interest in the Series? Personally, I feel something of a letdown after all the hype of a possible Sox-Cubs series.

Go Yankees!

I wish they had the chance to beat up the Cubs after the Sox, but the Marlins will do.

I'm feeling let down, too. I really wanted to see a Cubs-Sox series.

I think this marks the return of baseball, though, in our culture. I mean, you could not have written a better script for these two series, and even though it's not quite a storybook ending, in that the underdogs didn't get to the big game, it was real competition and excitement, right to the end. Extra innings, no blow outs - quality sports. Fun stuff.

The only Yankees fan, the only Giants fan, the only Conservative. Must train harder to win the good fight for the right.

This series holds little to no appeal for me.

Will the Yankees win their 27th world championship???? Oooh, I'm on the edge of my seat.

Will the Marlins win & then ditch all their good players like they did last time?

Without a Cubs or Sox in there, it's just not that interesting. Too bad football is also kind of a dud this year, at least in Philly.

You are not alone.

I would have liked to play the Cubs, only so we could extend two curses in one year.

As someone who suffered through the torturous eighties and early nineties visiting the Bronx and never getting a winning team, I'll take each victory and savor it - thank you.

Sadly, being on the road left me to listen to Young Buck and Tim McClueless call the game. What I wouldn't have given to hear the ol' Sterling cheer "The yaaaaaankeeeeeees win".

I will add that being here in Philly has taught me to love the Philzzzzz.... and National League ball! So go fightins in 2004 (even though I voted for the yanks in the poll)!

It's down to a best of three series now, thanks to the Marlins dramatic extra-innings win last night.

I haven't a clue as to how this series is going to turn out. Both teams showed in the LCS that they're capable of coming from behind. The Yankees have been here before and the Marlins could care less about that fact.

On a funny side note, ESPN.com has a poll asking where Jeff Weaver will be pitching next year. Currently in first place is the California Penal League, followed by Chico's Bail Bonds. I thought that was pretty humorous.

Are the Yankees the team that people just love to hate? Given the finish of this series, doesn't this show some hope for baseball? A team with 1/3 the payroll of the Yankes beating them in their own home stadium? How much do you think Steinbrenner will scrap from this team?
