Default Is anyone as annoyed by Lauren Hart as me?

I think it is great that Lauren Hart sings the National Anthem at the Flyers games but....who in the Comcast family decided that she should be propped up as some sort of local celeb?

It seems she is everywhere nowadays.

Has anyone seen her on 10 at 10?

She is absolutely unwatchable. I feel bad for her.

I hope Heather Mitts gets done her Olympic Team soccer tour soon and returns to 10 at 10.

Her dad was legend Gene Hart so that gives her alot of clout with Flyer's fans. She has a great voice and why do u really care???? Has Phila produced any REAL Celebrities.

Who cares who sings when the Flyers or the NHL for that matter won't even be on this year??

Actually who cares about the Flyers when you can watch the Eagles.

UC - I was set back by your cemments concerning Lauren Hart. You UC should take a step back from your computer screen and look reality straight on... Lauren is no simple celebrity but a strong hard working member of Philly and one who truly inspires. Rock on Lauren!!

I've heard her at the Flyers game and just caught her doing 10 at 10. She sounded great. But anyway, thanks for making the connection between the flyers game and her.

Whatever!

I had the "pleasure" of watching her again on 10 at 10 over the holidays and wouldn't you know...she is still aweful.

Am I the only one who gets that feeling of pity when watching her mechanically deliver and flub her lines?

How long has she been on that show....and she still stinks?

I think Lauren is an attractive woman who can belt out the National Anthem at Flyers games and I enjoy her doing that.

My problem is, that's apparently where her celebrity ends. Don't try to make her a bigger local celebrity than she is capable of being.

Default Huh?

Who is Lauren Hart? I had to google her to see ...

This is what I found:

I also found this:

What's the fuss?

"Peter Principle."

I wasn't all that fond of her music, either. But to be fair, I'm appalled at all which passes for "celebrity" these days, especially in Philadelphia. Their fifteen minutes of fame, which should last only four minutes, runs on for hours.

It's enough to make me watch American Idol.

I've seen her perform live at Flyers games and on small stages around the area and I can't say I was too impressed. Decent singer who just doesn't seem to be able to take it to that next level. Maybe she just needs a better songwriter to work with.

And I've never heard of the 10 show but Heather Mitts wins this contest hands down.

Well it appears that Mr Carmichael's comments may have been a little biased:

A love story

Why you may have noticed a flash of Tiffany ice on the left ring finger of Lauren Hart: The singer and cohost of WCAU-TV's 10! show is engaged, to Todd Carmichael, globe-trotting co-owner of La Colombe Coffee.

Therein lies a funny coincidence, says Hart, a daughter of Gene Hart, the late voice of the Flyers: "I've never had a cup of coffee in my life, and he's never been to a hockey game."

They met in late November when Carmichael, 41, was a 10! guest. "We had a conversation before [his appearance] and I said to myself, 'That's somebody I need to know,' " says Hart, 38. But Carmichael was leaving that very day for an expedition to the South Pole. "I thought our paths might not cross," she says. "Fortunately for me, he was feeling the same way. He called me from the South Pole." He popped the question one month after their first real date.

The wedding will be June 28 at Victoria Falls in Zambia.

Zambia?

Gene Hart, who died in 1999 at age 68, loved to travel but never got to Africa. Carmichael says he's seeing to it that his future bride and mother-in-law, Sarah, get there. June 28 would have been the Voice's birthday, "so he'll be there in spirit."

Neither Carmichael, previously married, nor Hart, who had been engaged to weathercaster John Bolaris, was looking for love.

"You can't find an angel," Carmichael says. "Angels just appear."
Congrats Todd and Lauren (thank God you parted ways with that idiot John Bolaris).

I've never seen or heard of 10 at 10 and I don't follow hockey at all so I never heard of Lauren Hart until stumbling over this thread just now. I do very much enjoy LaColmbe coffee however and the fact that a comment on Phillyblog can create a stir. You never know who's looking in these days, huh UncleCranky.
