BG

She is the daughter of Gene Hart, who was the voice of the Flyers, a Hall of Famer. She has been singing at Flyers games since she was a young girl. Kate Smith and Lauren Hart made gob gless america cool long before 9/11

I love the one-post wonders . . . how did Mr. Carmichael find us.

People have slammed his coffee, etc and he stays mum. But question Lauren Hart and wow.

I actually enjoy her work on 10 (at times). And, I think her battle against cancer has been brave and inspiring.

Congratulations to the couple. May they live long and well.

Lauren Hart returning to song full time

By Michael Klein
Inquirer Columnist

Lauren Hart is getting out of the TV business.

Her last day on WCAU's 10! morning show will be Dec. 9, she said yesterday.

Hart, better known as a singer-songwriter and as the daughter of the late Flyers announcer Gene Hart, began twinning with Bill Henley in August 2004.

Why retire, as she terms the impending departure, at age 35?

It's the music in her.

She wants to devote her time to her music. Her third CD - 5 Lifetimes, on her own Gypsy Girl label - will be released Jan. 14 at a concert at World Cafe Live in University City, and she is planning a long tour.

"I didn't anticipate the amount of work that goes into the show," Hart said. "My music was starting to lack. It took me over a year to make this record, and I was making it at night while I was doing the show."

Then the Flyers returned from their year off, and she returned as their national anthem singer. More lost nights.

All told, she lost sleep. She says she can sing in all kinds of conditions, but needs proper shut-eye to be at top form.

"I can't say I would never do [TV] again, but I love to sing. Something had to give."

Hart's successor is not known; a Channel 10 spokeswoman declined comment.

The 10! show - which she says has been an honor to do - had its perks. She met Todd Carmichael, co-owner of La Colombe coffee, when he did a hit last year. They were married five months ago in Africa.

Carmichael's business takes him overseas, and since Hart wants to tour, "this may work out for both of us," she said.

Show some respect man- her father Gene, may he rest in peace, was THE VOICE of the Flyers for decades...

Her family has done more for that team than anyone over the years... it means something to the team and the diehard fans- its the bandwagoners that get miffed by stuff like that Crank...

It seems she is everywhere nowadays.

Has anyone seen her on 10 at 10?

She is absolutely unwatchable. I feel bad for her.

I hope Heather Mitts gets done her Olympic Team soccer tour soon and returns to 10 at 10.

pm,

I am not sure I follow your logic.

Her father was a great man and has done alot for the Flyers org, so I need to show her respect and not voice a critical view of her performance on a non-Flyers related television show?

OK..My bad....I didn't know how this works.
