I hope we're not going to change the rules a couple hours before the draft.

That would suck big time.

I thought the majority wanted to change the rules. It should be up to the commissioner to decide and not one person who didn't want it to change in the first place.

Two points:
  • In the past, we went with an if-no-one-objects rule for changes.
  • I checked the settings this weekend and ranked the players accordingly. The potential rule change was mentioned three weeks ago, but Thomas has made no mention of it since. There was time to discuss this before people put together their lists, but no one did.

Less than four hours before the draft is no time to change the rules.

To be fair it was discussed. After thomast expressed his desire to change the scoring 4 people (myself, dolemite, unclecranky, and emoney) voted for the change; 1 person (illiniwek) voted against it; and Rusty said he was cool with whatever the majority wanted. Its not like thomast put out the idea and no one commented. 8 people out of a 10 person league voiced some form of opinion. In the end, we have 5 yes votes, 1 no, and one null. Even if the other two participants vote no that only makes 3 no to 5 yes. I think it should be changed. But, obviously, its not a deal breaker as i'll have fun either way.

To be fair, only two of the yes votes were for the proposal I out forth, and two were for the yardage scoring change and not the passing TD scoring change.

So we're keeping the status quo, as I also hear Illiniwek's point that we shouldn't make a change this late in the game.

Also, of course my Internet is down and I'm on a neighbor's open WiFi right now, so I don't know if I'll even make it to the draft. Been on hold w/ CavTel for 20 mins already.

In the absence of speaker phone, do we want any side line communication channels? Chat function in Yahoo?

i think you need to be on the draft central tab or something. there is a countdown clock there and stuff.
