So here's my original post announcing the league - if you want to play, comment on this thread, and if we get two more, then I'll put it to a vote of the current players.

Additionally - someone mentioned the scoring. The scoring is set on what was until this year the default Yahoo! scoring system, and it is very TD-heavy. They have new default scoring this year, as follows:

Code:
             Old Scoring New Scoring
Passing yds 1 pt/50 yds 1 pt/25 yds
Passing TD 6 pts 4 pts
Rush/Rec yds 1 pt/20 yds 1 pt/10 yds
Rush/Rec TD 6 pts 6 pts
I'd kind of like to switch to the new scoring system. What do others think?

And now, my original announcement post:

Quote:
I'm pretty sure that only Wil and I have been in all previous iterations of the PB FFL, so I decided that I should wrest the commissioner-ship away from Illiniwek this year. As Illiniwek whimpered in my vise-like headlock, he nonetheless extracted three conditions for allowing me to run the league this year:
  1. League password must be "genopat", which is Philadelphian for "Jeez-o-pete".
  2. League Prizes must be doubled from last year. Since I am the soft-hearted, equality-minded Mt. Airy Liberals, I am therefore doubling the number of prizes. Instead of prizes for 1st-3rd places, I'm distributing them from 1st-6th place. Prizes are given out of the total collected entry fees, but entry is free, so you do the math.
  3. Illiniwek has exclusive rights to Mike Vick in the first round.

How to join the league:
Once you're registered, you can use this URL to access the league page:
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo....gue/phillyblog
(but that's not the invite link, because, ummm... Yahoo is stupid sometimes).

The League is set for 10 teams - if there's strong demand, we'll add spaces in pairs, with majority assent from those already registered.

The live, online draft is currently set for Tuesday, August 21, at 8:30pm EDT. Some preseason games will be done, Mike Vick's earthly fate will be clearer (he's obviously going to burn in hell eventually), but a very highly ranked fantasy player will have not yet suffered a season-ending injury in a pre-season game.

If the time is bad for a majority of folks, we can try to move it. See? I'm a very accommodating commish.

Cheers,

I like the new scoring system better overall (i posted the original comment about scoring). The only change i would make would be make passing td's 6 points instead of 4.

I vote to keep the scoring system that's been in use.

It's what was on the board when we signed up.
