Just a few minutes ago it was announced that Philly will be one of six cities hosting WWC matches. The dates I'm hearing right now are September 20th and 25th. Judging by the wording of the ussoccer.com article, it sounds like the US will play at least one match here, but I'm going to wait until the final schedule comes out before I get too excited. So, now, who's going to try to attend the matches? Does it matter if the US is one of the teams playing here? Personally, I'm going to be there regardless of who's playing. I'm very excited to see soccer in Philly and on such a big stage. |

Manchester United will play the final match of their US tour against Barcelona on August 3rd. It's the first event to be played at the Linc.
You can still get tickets, but the only places I know of are ticket brokers and they're not the cheap seats. That said, it should be a very good match. It will be near the end of pre-season training for both teams, so they'll have all the best players out there, with the incentive of keeping/gaining starting spots. Plus, the place will be absolutely jumping. Personal experience tells that 60,000+ soccer fans make for an interesting experience. |

As for WWC tickets, the best suggestion I can make is to register at ussoccer.com. They will likely send an e-mail announcement once tickets go on sale.
Still, as soon as I hear, I will post the info here. |

This is from that article as well.
"A complete TV schedule with match times will be released in the near future. Ticketing details will also be announced shortly and will include a private pre-sale for members of the U.S. Soccer community." Check out the site and join. It's free and you will get access to a private pre-sale.

fifa has a site on all the cities hosting games this year. Philly has a nice bunch of pictures. Check it out here.
http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/03/en/...ia/photos.html They say in one of the picture captions that Philadelphia is the most compact and walkable major city in the US. That's true. It's about time it was acknowledged. I walk home from work. It's about 40 blocks and I walk through 4 different neighborhoods.
