Default Flyers

I think the Flyers are the best team in recent memory. Good players, depth, and great coaching. If Clarke doesn't tinker too much they should be a very tough team next eyar and possible this year if they can gel. Thoughts?

The Amonte trade should be a big boost! I still feel like detroit always seems to just have the best talent on the ice, at all times, I am happy to see the flyers making a move that will help them bring the cup home.

How are they doing with injuries, which seem to always be an issue with the boys?

The Flyers always seem to have the best team on paper and then fold in the playoffs. I hope that the recent trade and current performance lead them to bring home a cup, but history never seems to be in our favor.

Default Well

I think at the beginning of this season Detroit was the best team again. Primeau is good but no team leader. he's no Steve Yzerman. I didn;t think much of them but I think what I most underrated was Hitchcock's influence. Amonte was a good trade yes, but if you can play under a good coach for few years then you will evolve. Detroit didn;t win a cup Scottie's first eyar but slowly got better and better. then once they were good enough their mgmt just does enough to keep them at the top, while keeping core players together. Bobby Clarke has no patience for development and that, IMHO, hs been the Flyers biggest plague...that, and coaching. Terry Murray was the last effective coach though I feel he's better as an asst.

I agree with you. Clarke seems to be the main issue that holds the team back. There has been little consistency in team personnel and it has carried over onto the ice.

Go Flyers!! No matter how this series turns out, they look better than they have in years.

I'm an Islanders fan, but the senators are looking unbeatable this year.

Success at the first (and some have said the most telling) hurdle, with tonight's Game 7 win over Toronto.

I'm trying not to get too excited, but for the team to play as well as they did tonight, considering the situation, the recent play-off history and the pressure, I'm very encouraged.

Now I hope they have another winning series against Ottawa and that the Devils and Lightning beat each other senseless for seven games.

John, is toronto that good?

We had 3 big overtime games in the first round. Seems like we had a hard time putting them away.
