One holiday season my wife's best friend tried to wangle what gift I was giving my wife for Christmas.
Laughingly I said, " Why I'm going to give her a gift she will never unwrap but one she will always keep."
The Friend thought I was teasing her and probably wouldn't tell her for fear she tell the secret.
During the joyous celebration of that Yule day, the friend phoned to wish us well.
When she asked my wife what I had gotten her.
My wife proudly said, “ He gave me a box and I haven't unwrapped it.”

Twenty years have passed and she still has my gift. She has never unwrapped it. It sits proudly on her dresser.
Many times I have caught her fondling that little box with the look of love on her face,
as once again she reads the card attached.
