I think you have some misunderstandings about Buddhism. I am a Buddhist, but I am not an erudite scholar, so excuse me if I respond in an unsatisfactory manner.
#1 "being raped" or killed or injured ... lay back and take it? I never read that anywhere in the entire
Tripitaka, which the Dhammapada is part. Did you know that Asian defensive martial arts are taught in Buddhist Temples, such as kung fu originating in the famous Shao Lin monestary in China, or Muay Thai in Thailand? Defending yourself and your family is very much a part of Buddhism.
#2 "positive and negative" in Buddhism we call it the law of Karma. Every action has a reaction. Ever see the yin-yang symbol?
#3 "born losers"? In Buddhism we believe every human being is a potential Buddha (enlightened one) and we are called to respect our neighbors and strangers as well.
The Dalai Lama summerized Buddhism in four words: "My religion is kindness."
Everyone ... have a lovely day!
