You got me on McGreevy...I want to know who let him in.

Regarding Bennison though. In the Diocese of Phila. When we heard about this, word got to different parishes, 99% of the parishoners took IMMEDIATE action and wanted him out. Some went as far as not paying dues.

You are correct....as we remember Camp What-a-Piti. But we acknowledged it...he is out and as of right now not considered a Bishop and hopefully he will be found guilty.

We didn't cover it up and try to transfer him somewhere else. Wouldn't wish that on our worst enemy. Hey maybe he will become Catholic...We take McGreevy and the Catholics can have Bennison!!

Speaking of Bennison, his trial is set for June 9 and it will be open to the public! Should be..um....interesting!

Yes, she has. She is a vocational deacon.

As for bishops, if Bishop Bennison is removed, I pray that the Diocese of Pennsylvania gets the same healing kind of person that New Jersey got after its debacle of some ten years ago with its former Bishop.

The present Bishop, George Councell, has been aptly described by one person as "the holiest bishop she ever met." I echo that sentiment. There was a very strong disagreement between our vestry and the interim rector last year (it must be me, they seem to retire once I show up!) After it was all over and he could have just written it off, Bishop Councell came himself to meet not only with the Vestry, but the entire parish; he didn't bring any mediators or staff to deflect things on to them. He did it himself and told us it was no holds barred; he would take whatever punches we had to throw and that the problems ultimately resided at his doorstep.

Oh that sounds great, yes I do worry about who the next bishop will be. I'm on the Vestry and I met Bennison, he visits (well, he USED TO visit) our church once a year and I do admit he had a few useful things to say as far as growing our church. But the scandals taint my view of him, he is the one who Confirmed me and I look at my Confirmation paper that bears his signature with mixed emotion: joy because it was a happy day in my life, but also with anger/sadness because of all that's happened since.
