Default Contemplative Prayer

Does anyone here have any experience with Centering Prayer or meditation with prayer?
My church is starting a Contemplative Prayer group (if you are interested in joining, let me know). I will attend the group but I have never done this kind of prayer before.

Any thoughts?

Default "Be Still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

St. Paul's Chestnut Hill has Centering Prayer Service 7:00 a.m. Wednesday mornings. My church, Good Shepherd East Falls has used it as a topic for Adult Education classes.
Check out this web site for a good introduction to the subject: www.centeringprayer.com

Try it you might like it but don't be discouraged if it isn't your cup of tea.
Like a lot of things in Christian practice one size doesn't fit all, some folks like quiet and come away refreshed. Other folks just nod off...
